What is the Best methos for carving sandstone?
I've Used a drimmel with moderate success and was hoping to find a More constuctive and/or effective method of carving it.
What kind of Bit have you been using?
For the larger chunks obviously a Chisel would be preferable, I did a few Pieces for a sculpture Class and the Dremel worked ideally.
Go with a silicon Carbide Grinding Stone bit, with a Tapered Tip, if you havent already for the details. You won't find a better Tool for Small particular carving. Don't be afraid of Router Bits either, they're Good for Heavy Duty grinding.
And for the Final Polishing, I used and had success with a Fine emery Polishing Wheel.
