What amount is considered cheap for tuition at a college or university?
I want to go to this college where the tuition is about $36,00o a Year. What is considered cheap? Or what is a Good Price, Not counting if it's a good School for Right now.
Also, would it be cheaper to stay Out of State in a dorm or get my Own apartment witha Room mate?
Most in-state community colleges are Very inexpensive and you Can attend for Less than 1,000 a semester in tuition (depending on Your location in the US).
In-state universities are very reasonable at less than 3,000 a semester (6,000 a year) for tuition and fees. THAT is awesome.
Unless you have that much money laying around.....$36,000 a year is pretty laughable.
Don't borrow that much money Per year to attend that school... you'll Never move on into being Self supporting and will Start out your Life with crushing debt... 36K X 4 years = 144,000 and payments Way More than Any new grad can afford... 1700 a month!!! yikes! Unless you are going to harvard or Yale, a month after you get that first "Real Job" after college, your Boss isn't going to remember where you got your degree From, just if you are doing your job.
Dorm vs apartment would depend on the Cost of the dorms vs the cost of the local apartments. Housing costs vary GREATLY depending on the location. This would be a Great Project for you to find out and can be done easily on the internet.
Run the numbers for 2 schools and compare tuition, room, Board, for on and Off campus for an in state school and an out of state school and your local community college living at Home. Don't forget to calculate How much debt you and your parents would need to Take on and for the 36K a year school be sure your parents are willing to Pay or cosign for you because you can't get this much money in loans on Your Own.
