How do you get foam Off a Copper Water Tank thing?

Okay so my sister is doing an Art Project and we have this copper Water Heater Cooler tank thing .. is there Any Easy Way of getting the foam off the Outside of it?
Chemicals?
Its a pretty Big water thing!

After the outside shell is Cut off and you are Down to the foam itself, Use a Razor/Scraper to Take Off the Bulk foam, then take an Electric Hand Grinder with a STIFF Wire Brush Attachment.

The wire brush Attachments that look Like a cup are better to use than the ones that look like a Wheel. (unless you decide on the Electric Drill instead of the hand grinder -- with a drill, you'll want the wheel Style brush) The hand grinder with cup attachment is faster than a drill with a wheel attachment, due to leverage on the Tool. Lots of Elbow Grease, Hard Work. Unless it is some sort of biodegradeable foam (doubtful), there isn't a Good chemical that I know of. Foam is One of the hardest things to remove From a Surface that it is stuck to. I've had to do similar work at my Job. Use a Dust mask (or respirator is better) when you Fire up the electric grinder, you don't want to breathe the foam dust.

If it is a Lot of foam to scrape off, see if you Can get a cheese Knife or machete and use Two hands -- Very CAREFULLY Draw the knife toward you. The cheese knife has one handle at Each End of the knife, but with a machete you might want to Duct Tape the Point end of the Blade thoroughly to create a Second handle. But this will remove a lot of it fast. You might even be able to skip the wire brush and go Straight to Sanding (by hand or electric).

[Dow Chemical makes several foam products, you might try calling up one of their chemical engineers (technical assistance) and find out if there is a cleaner or chemical they use for dry foam. I've never called them since my foam removal has always been small jobs.]
