How Can free neutrons, which have a mean free lifetime of 15 minutes, travel millions of Light years?
Free neutrons have a mean free lifetime of around 15 minutes. Yet free neutrons are observed entering the atmosphere, and these were produced in supernova explosions in galaxies millions of light years away. How is this possible?
This is relativity/Time dilatation in Action.
When a particle has a Velocity Close to the Speed of light,
then it will appear to have a longer lifetime before it decays.
