How noisy is Your ducted Range hood Outlet to the Outside?
I intend to convert my range hood into a ducted type to Vent to the outside. It is a Broan Unit that allows venting Out the Back. I intend to vent through the South Wall. However, after buying the required outside wall vent, I thought about how Wind or Pressure differences may rattle or vibrate the flap in the wall vent. If you Own a ducted range hood, how do you Like it and is it noisy when wind blows against the house?
If you have a flapper on your outside vent is should Not be loud enough to bother you Most of the Time. You Can sometimes (depends on the Cfm you produce and the Distance of your vent) add a Small Magnet to the flapper (if Metal) or Tape a Washer to the flapper to give it a Little Extra Weight to prevent it From flapping in the wind.
CAUTION this will not Work with All Units you Must Test it to Make sure it still opens when turned on. Too much weight will prevent the flapper from opening and can cause serious problems.
