Has anyone Used a Black jig with a White pig or chunk?
I just had a Great idea of putting a white pig/chunk on a black jig, If you have used it, what Time of Year did you do it?, and did it do Any Good?
There's no reason it wouldn't Work. Normally you'll want to match Your jig Color as Close as possible to your Trailer but there are a few exceptions in my opinion. I'll Take your idea for an example (black jig/white trailer). If I'm fishing in stained/dirty Water I Like throwing darker colored baits BUT I like having a Little color added in attempt of getting a Bit More attention to the bait. This is where a white trailer would Come in Very Handy. Sometimes Fish in stained water tend to take brighter baits Over a darker bait, kind of defeats the whole rule of "Dark Colors in stained water and Bright colors in Clear water". Most of the time going by that rule will get you more fish but as I said, there are times when you have to Switch it up. Fish Can be very picky at times. Anyways, using a black jig with a white trailer is kind of like "the Best of both worlds". The fish that are wanting the black will be attracted to the jig while if a fish is liking the lighter colors on a particular Day you have a good chance of getting it's attention From your trailer. Not a bad idea at All and will work in stained water from time to time. I wouldn't suggest using a black jig when the water is clear though, go with something a bit lighter in color or a Natural color in that situation.
