What level should the Soil/grass be in comparison to my Pavement?
My backyard is All Dirt Right now and when it rains the dirt turns to Mud and Make my pavement walkway filthy! I'd Like to put grass in but am Not sure what level the soil needs to be.
If it's perfectly level with the pavement will I have mud problems when it rains? Should the soil be Slightly lower?
Also, is it necessary or recommended to Install a Curbing or edging between the grass and pavement?
The soil of the Lawn, not the tips of the grass, should be about 1" below hardscaping.
There are several kinds of headers, or mowbands. I like 6-12" Concrete ones, but there are Lots of different kinds, Wood, Metal, recycled Plastic. I Work for a landsapce Architect and we always put some sort of Barrier between lawns and planting areas, although I cant think of Any specific reason.
