Precious metal Clay and Base metal?
Hi
Can someone give advice on attaching pmc to base metal earring Clip-on. The earring clip-on has no Loop to Hook on Any beading or Design. PMC will have to be attached to the Flat pad of the base metal. Problem is... the Back of the pmc where to base metal will be attached is Not leveled. The earring will not Attach Flush to the pmc. Tried Glue with no avail.
Any ideas on something to put in between the pmc and earring clip on to Connect the Two. Something leveled so the glue will bond to the earring.
Instead of something between, you need to look at a glue that will fill the gap and bond to both as Well as thoroughly Cleaning both surfaces including a Final cleaning with denatured or 93 to 97% isopropyl (High percent rubbing) alcohol. The glue Most Used is E6000 a stinky Self Leveling Craft contact glue that is a cousin to Goop adhesives which don't Stick as much. Both a stiff Silicone adhesives (much harder than 100% silicone Adhesive also sold as Caulk) which specifically allow Use as contact glues - apply to One Part, Touch the Other part, pull apart to let solvent evaporate for 15-20 seconds, put together EXACTLY where you want them and they are stuck. E6000 comes in a fairly Large Silver Gray Tube for about $8 and is now in most craft and Many Hardware stores. Goop is in most hardware stores although often in different departments and is in Various colored Tubes with variations in features - Marine Goop Stands up More and is more UV Resistant, Craft Goop flows a Little better, etc. All are hazy Clear.
