Why so Many bands in SDS-Page for certain Lane?
I have a lab involving the purification of GST-PLC SH2 domain. The sample was E.Coli and it was first induced with IPTG im assuming to allow translation and transcription. It was then lysated. This sample was then run on the SDS-Page and numerous bands came up in the Well. Sorry if this is a stupid question but why would so many bands appear? Thank you Very much.
Lots of bands means lots of different sized proteins.
How did you purify Your sample From the lysate? If you have lots of bands then your purification wasn't quite successful.
