Where Can I get a carb for my 74 DT175??

I just bought an Old Yamaha DT175 and the hillbilly who owned it before me took a die grinder to the carb because he thought the Float was hitting the bowl. Does anyone know where I can get a carb to Fit this Bike, or know what carbs would be interchangable??

Your bike Should have Spigot Mount>>straight sleeve that pushes into a rubber "hose" stub manifold,,,and fastened with a band clamp.

Earlier ones used a Bolt-On Flange mount carb.

125's and 175's up UNTIL your's used the same carbs as each other.

Starting with Yours,,,175's got their own carb.

That carb Will "FIT",,,but it's not a Direct interchange.

The DT's,,& all the Enduro models always had "OEM" plain jane Mikuni carbs.

The MX's got a actual Hi-Perf Mikuni Carb.
A Different Model of carb with Much,Much better fuel delivery metering circuitry.

The MX's carbs work a bunch better,,especially at low-to-mid speeds.

To use a MX carb in place of yours,,,,you'll have to Jet & Tune the thing.

You Probably will need nothing but MAYBE a main jet change.

Your low speed should come into tune w/ just the adjustment screw.
But if needed ,the low speed pilot jets ARE Interchangble,
but 1 size difference.
The MX is a bit Richer jet,,
the DT a bit Leaner

The Needles,,,,the DT's are longer by 8~10mm and has shallower taper>gets rich slower as Slide rises.
The Nozzles,,,are Not swappable cuz of the DT's odd float bowl Mounted Main Jet Holder.
NEITHER are interchangeable between the 2 carbs.
Which aint necessary anyway.

The SLIDES ARE swappable,,,
"Same" but 2 different cutaways.

The MX slide is Leaner up to mid Range/ 1/2 Throttle.
The DT is richer.

anyway,,,,You can probably get it tuned pretty Close with just a main jet Change & and moving Needle Clip position,,,
and twisting the idle Air Screw

I dont know for certain.
it should be Close,,,but it's NOT a Direct fit.
You should be able to "Mix & match" Carb Cap parts.
and get throttle cable hooked up w/ no probs.
****Make SURE Before trying to Start bike that Throttle /Carb FULLY Closes and still has a Bit of slack.

Almost No carbs for bikes are an actual Direct Interchange.

In this instance,,,the MX carb is nearly a Direct Fit.
*Probly needs Only Very minor tuning.
*Is a Much,Much better Running carb
*Less trouble than Original carb.
*AND,,it's a Little larger Bore size

Any Used carb you get,,,I'd suggest you Take it apart and Clean it Well.
