How do you get tap Water Clean?
I do Not have a brita Filter, beause i do not have Any money. I just got a fly Trap and it needs clean water. How to i get tap water clean?
The venus fly trap needs to have water with a Tds (Total dissolved solids) Measurement of 50 PPM or Less. Most tap water won't meet this Standard, even if it is run through a filter Like Brita. Boiling the water, or Setting it Out will not Fix this. You basically have 3 options for Cleaning the water before using it to Your Plant:
1) Buy distilled water - You should be able to buy distilled water by the Gallon From any major supermarket store like Wal-mart, Target, etc. This water will have a TDS measurement of 0 PPM. In Other words it is Pure water.
2) Use Rain water. If you Can devise a Way of collecting rainwater, it is Cheap and rain water has a Very low TDS measurement.
3) Get a reverse osmosis Unit. RO Units will remove most of the TDS in water, but they are somewhat expensive.
