What does it mean to piggyback One telescope on another telescope?
I don't quite understand the Point of piggybacking one telescope into another telescope. Someone please explain this to me. I'll show you exactly what I am talking about.
" Meade ETX-125 piggy Back on 10" LX200. 72 minutes luminance and 20 minutes Per Color Channel. Autoguided with DSI Pro.".
Thank you in Advance!
In the configuration that you mention, the smaller telescope is Used as a guider scope while the larger telescope is used to Take a Picture. This is pretty common setup for astroimagers and allows for Good "Close-up" shots.
In some cases, the larger telescope is used as the guider and the smaller scope is used as the imager. This allows for nice Wide Field shots.
Heres some examples -
