How Come DSL connection work if Modem is plugged into One specific phone Jack and Not another?
I had problems with my DSL connection before. A technician was sent in and he worked on it. He worked on a phone jack in the basement where my previous Room Used to be and the internet Works Fine if the DSL modem is plugged into there. However, if I bring the modem upstairs and Plug it into another phone jack, the connection does not work. Any suggestions?
Most DSL installations require a "Splitter" on the phone Line. Often, this is just a Little "dongle" with a Short Piece of telephone Cord on one End and a telephone jack on the Other. The other Way is to have a technician Connect the splitter at the Main Cable.
You may need to purchase a splitter and Install it on Your new phone line. Fortunately, these are fairly Cheap and Can be purchased for Under $10.
